The Wellism Vision

Preamble

The Wellism Vision is a dream we share: a a preview of the exemplary global society we aspire to create, where every individual enjoys a high level of wellbeing, as the light of kindness and wisdom shines into every corner of life.

Wellbeing is a multifaceted concept which encompasses everything that contributes to an individual’s overall health, happiness, and prosperity. This includes not only physical health and sufficient material things, but also emotional health, harmonious relationships and culture, as well as societal institutions that supports everyone’s wellbeing.

Wellism is a philosophy of life, an ideology, and a global social movement which promote a society centered around the concept of wellbeing in all its forms.

Our Dream

Yes, we have a dream, that one day humanity will rise up and live out its true potential. Imagine all the people living life in peace. Envision sustainable prosperity for all, where people do not only survive but joyously thrive. A world guided by reason and free inquiry, inspired by compassion and generosity. A global community that respects the inherent dignity and personal sovereignty of every individual, and the right of each to the greatest possible freedoms and fullest possible development compatible with mutual care for the rights of others, acknowledging our interdependence.

A society whose structures support life, guarantee liberty, and enable everyone’s pursuit of happiness; and whose governments are by the people and for the people — an informed and knowledgeable citizenry reaching agreements through respectful communication. A universal ethical culture, dedicated to the highest enlightened ideals, wielding technology as a constructive force that provides humankind with tremendous opportunity for achieving an abundant and meaningful life, living as an interconnected and integral part of nature on planet Earth. When we create it — what a wonderful world this would be!

Purpose

The purpose of this Vision is to inspire us to imagine the best world for humanity, and encourage us to co-create it by gradually making it more of our reality. Though we have diverse perspectives, we share a common care for our fellow human beings, our societies, our nations, and the global community; and we desire to collaborate in refining this Vision to shape a thriving future. It is our responsibility to become the change we wish to see in the world. We remember that the triumph of good over evil is obtainable when people of good conscious and values courageously focus their energies together. When light is nourished then darkness fades away.

Collaboration

Wellism is not a fixed doctrine but a living invitation — born of many minds and hearts, and always evolving through a continuing process of observation, evaluation and revision. It is thanks to standing on the shoulders of giants that preceded us that we are able to formulate this philosophy and look with hope to the future. Wellism welcomes every voice that longs for a kinder, wiser world. We invite as many people as possible to read this Vision, reflect on it, share their insights on how to improve it, and join us in the pursuit of shaping a society grounded in true wellbeing — for all.
