Why was the name “Wellism” chosen for our philosophy of life?
Perhaps a more precise name would be “wellbeingism” to signify that our philosophy is centered around wellbeing. However, this name sounds too cumbersome, so “Wellism” was preferred.
Another suggestion was “Povism” – a term derived from the expression “positive values” (pointing to our values), as well as the Latin expression “Positivum Vita” meaning “positive life”. But what is a “positive” value or life my be open to dispute, and so this name is less precise than “Wellism” which is anchored in wellbeing.
The name “Wellism” is not necessarily the final name we want. If you have suggestions for a better name, please let us know.
